Aloha Ke-Alians. Hello Royal Ones
San Pedro High School Graduating Class of 1973 welcomes you to
this Web site dedicated to remembering a little of where we came
from, looking at ourselves today, and planning for our future reunions.
************
Attention! This Web site has been down for well
over one year and we are doing our best to get it working in great
order well before our 35-year Reunion, which is scheduled for Saturday
August 2, 2008.
Please look on the "Events" page for more information
about the reunion and the weekend.
************
Our fabulous reunion weekend was held on July 18 through July 20,
2003. The reunion committee wishes to thank all or our classmates
and guests who helped make this a great reunion. Hopefully by mid
August this site will post as many of the 400 plus pictures taken
by three classmates as possible. The Contact Page will also be adding
Email addresses of classmates on an ongoing basis. The Points of
Interest, Missing Classmates, and Memorial Pages will remain on
the site. You are encouraged to return to this site and view the
changes.
On behalf of Dave Wells-Webmaster, reunion committee members; Nancy,
Joe, Toni, Noel, and Mark, thank you for visiting."

Ke-Alians
Ke-Alians, Royal Ones, is the name the graduating
class of 1973 gave itself. It seemed the class wanted to do just
about everything differently from every other class before it. And
we sure did. By reading the answers to the questions below, it illustrates
how clever, colorful, and confident we were.

Who was the senior class president? The answer
to this very first question shows how unique we were, and perhaps
still are. In 1972, students who were on the class of 1973 council
were eligible to run for senior class offices. It was decided that
no one would run for a specific office. The two persons with the
most number of votes were named co-presidents, while the next four
people were chosen to be assistants to the co-presidents. Our co-presidents
were Wendy Waterman and Steve Knowlton. The assistants to the co-presidents
were Ervin Frazier, Marie Pilato, Denise Sanchez, and Mark Wells.
What were the class colors? Maroon and Bone
were chosen as the class colors. This color match had never been
seen on campus before and was another example of our determination
to be unlike any who came before us. This color scheme would later
come to haunt the Webmaster of this site who tried his best to match
the colors using color indexes.
What did the senior sweaters look like? For
the first time, class members had their choice on the style of sweaters.
Two styles were offered. A standard cardigan style which had been
seen around campus for generations, and a pullover style, which
was extremely rare for senior sweaters and was woven with a very
rare weave. If you see Ke-Alians that still can wear their sweaters
you may get to see both styles. A Ke-Alian patch adorned both styles
of sweaters.
Did the class have a flag? The creative cousin
team of Elisa Wilder and Noel Tamborovich made a bright colorful
flag that flew on a special flag pole at the end of the track near
the football field. The flag was flown on special days.
Of all the interesting, unique, colorful, and wonderful names associated
with the class of 1973, are there two names that stand out? There
really is no true answer to this question. Many Ke-Alians can debate
their feelings about this issue, but just posing the question defines
how creative and different the class attempted to be. There are two
names that stand out in the history of the class that will conjure
up legend and myth for as long as classmates remember. The names are
Lester C. Rodan and Otto Carson.
